New album release: 'Seeing the Star'.
We are thrilled to announce that our latest album, 'Seeing the Star' was released on the 2nd October 2026.
Seeing the Star: Music for Christmas by Ben Ponniah brings together seventeen choral works by British composer Ben Ponniah, performed by the Choir of Royal Holloway under director Rupert Gough. Recorded at St. John the Evangelist, Upper Norwood in January 2026, the programme draws largely on newly commissioned pieces, blending the Anglican choral tradition with jazz-infused harmony and minimalist influences. Works range from Ponniah’s well-known title track – originally composed as a tribute to his childhood choir in Ipswich – to pieces honouring individual musicians, inspired by Monet’s paintings, and rooted in the landscapes of the Cambridgeshire fens.
